Join us as we close a year of activities celebrating and reflecting on the 50 years of contributions Haitians have made to South Florida.
On December 12, 1972, 65 Haitian nationals, surviving a perilous passage, landed on South Florida’s shores in a small wooden boat. They were escaping a dictatorship, violence and hopelessness. On that day, all Haitians became “Boat People!"
In these last 50 years, we have seen the Haitian American community flourish and grow with many groundbreaking accomplishments. Please join us on December 12, 2023, for a final gathering in commemoration of our history.
There will be a panel discussion, a special documentary, poetry, music and more.
